CARSON, Calif. (AP) — Los Angeles Galaxy goalkeeper Donovan Ricketts will undergo surgery Tuesday on a fractured left forearm that he sustained in a game against San Jose. He is expected to miss four to six weeks.

The team says Ricketts underwent X-rays on Monday that revealed the extent of the injury and that he will have the surgery in Santa Monica.

Ricketts was hurt in the first half of the Galaxy’s 0-0 draw with the Earthquakes when he collided with San Jose’s Khari Stephenson.

Ricketts leads Major League Soccer with a 0.53 goals against average in 12 games. He has a 6-1-4 record this season.
