SELAH, Wash. (AP) — Nine produce importers from Central America are touring Washington state this week to look for new products and new suppliers.

The Washington state Department of Agriculture helped arrange the tour to boost exports of agricultural products to the region.

The agency’s Janet Leister says several retailers and distributors from Mexico are on hand. Representatives from Costa Rica and Guatemala are here for just the second time, and a representative from Honduras is visiting Washington for the first time.

The program is paid for through the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Market Access Program.
