SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) — Ben Hansbrough is making his mark on Notre Dame basketball.
With one regular-season game left Saturday at Connecticut, the eighth-ranked Irish are gearing for the Big East Conference tournament and then hope to make a deep run in the NCAAs.
The 6-foot-3 Hansbrough has led the way. The senior guard transferred from Mississippi State three years ago and has emerged as the leader of the team.
After Notre Dame routed his team Monday night, Villanova coach Jay Wright said Hansbrough is the best player he’s seen all year and complimented his work on both ends of the court.
