KENT, Wash. (AP) — Kent police have fired a corrections officer accused of stealing money from jail inmates.

Police said Monday that video surveillance showed the guard removing cash from lockers used to store the personal belongings of inmates.

The 42-year-old man worked more than three years at the city jail. The case also has been turned over to King County prosecutors for a possible criminal charge.
