SALEM, Ore. (AP) — Salem-area power crews and road workers are preparing for another round of gusty weather that has already toppled trees and knocked out power to hundreds.

The area recovered from Monday storms, but National Weather Service hydrologist Andy Bryant says another storm on Tuesday night could bring back rain and stiff winds.

Winds in the area exceeded 41 mph, the Salem Statesman-Journal reports, and storms on Tuesday and Wednesday could bring gusts as strong as 30 mph.

Portland General Electric reports that about 500 people lost power on Monday in Salem, but electricity was restored by Monday afternoon.
