GARMISCH-PARTENKIRCHEN, Germany (AP) — Supporters and opponents of Munich’s bid for the 2018 Winter Games are greeting IOC inspectors visiting the proposed mountain venues.

About 100 pro-Olympic activists outnumbered anti-games demonstrators 3-1 Wednesday as the International Olympic Committee’s evaluation commission toured the venue for Alpine skiing and other events near Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany.

The commission planned to meet with the opponents, who are pushing for a referendum against the Olympics because of construction and ecological concerns.

Munich is competing against bids from Pyeongchang, South Korea, and Annecy, France.

The IOC will select the host city on July 6 in Durban, South Africa.
