DENVER (AP) — The injury-riddled Colorado Avalanche will have captain Adam Foote back on the ice against the Edmonton Oilers.
The veteran defenseman returns Saturday night after missing 11 games with a leg injury.
However, the team will be without forward Ryan Stoa for at least two weeks after he had an appendectomy.
Stoa has spent most of the season with Lake Erie of the AHL. He was recalled Feb. 18 for a second time this winter and has two goals in 12 games.
The Avalanche are one of the most banged-up teams in the league this season, losing 329 man-games to injuries.
Colorado is mired in a slump, going 1-12-2 over its last 15 games.
