Ferry leads Cornell past Yale 68-55

NEW YORK (AP) — Drew Ferry scored 15 points and Cornell ended its regular season on a three-game winning streak, beating Yale 68-55 on Saturday night.

Chris Wroblewski finished with 11 points, seven rebounds and six assists for the Big Red (10-18, 6-8 Ivy League), whose bench outscored Yale’s 42-8. Anthony Gatlin had 10 points in 14 minutes of play.

Cornell held the Bulldogs to 35 percent (21 of 60) shooting from the floor and 13 percent (2 of 15) from 3-point range. The Big Red also won despite seven free throws attempts, making all of them.

Wroblewski’s 3-pointer early in the second half gave Cornell a 37-24 lead — its largest of the game. The Bulldogs cut the lead down to five points on three different occasions, but failed to pull closer.

Greg Mangano scored 18 points and grabbed five rebounds for the Bulldogs (15-13, 8-6). Austin Morgan finished with 11 points.
