RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — Cam Long scored 15 points and Andre Cornelius had 12 to lead a balanced attack as George Mason beat Georgia State 68-45 in the quarterfinals of the Colonial Athletic Association tournament Saturday.

The top-seeded Patriots (26-5), who won their 16th straight, limited Georgia State to five second-half field goals and took command with a 22-2 run that opened a 58-36 lead with seven minutes remaining.

The Panthers (12-19), playing their second game under interim coach Paul Graham because Rod Barnes was fired at the end of the regular season, had scoring droughts of 612 minutes in the first half and 712 minutes in the second, when they connected on just 5 of 23 shots.

Eric Buckner led the Panthers with 10 points and Marques Johnson had nine. The second half drought came after the Panthers had closed to within 36-34.

Georgia State had 21 turnovers, the Patriots just six.
