GENOA, Italy (AP) — Injured Formula One driver Robert Kubica is expected to have minor surgery on his elbow on Saturday.
Officials at the Santa Corona hospital where Kubica is recuperating said Friday that he met with a specialist who recommended the procedure to help with his recovery and rehabilitation.
The Polish driver crashed while competing in a rally on Feb. 6 and was taken by helicopter to the hospital in Pietra Ligure, near Genoa.
Kubica has had three operations so far. After the crash, he underwent seven hours of surgery to save his right hand before operations on his shoulder and leg, and later on his elbow.
