PHOENIX (AP) — The Phoenix Suns were without their star point guard Steve Nash Sunday when they faced the Orlando Magic.

The two-time NBA most valuable player is bothered by what team doctors call “pelvic instability.” Suns coach Alvin Gentry says the injury probably will keep Nash out of Monday night’s game at Houston, too.

Aaron Brooks, acquired in a trade deadline deal with Houston, started in Nash’s place. This was just the third game Nash had missed this season.

Nash’s soreness in the pelvic area first bothered him last fall then resurfaced on the team’s recent six-game road trip and was especially debilitating in Phoenix’s blowout home loss to Denver on Thursday.
