JUPITER, Fla. (AP) — Kyle Lohse allowed one hit in six shutout innings, another indication for the St. Louis Cardinals that he’s back in form.

Mike Minor was just as impressive in his bid for the fifth spot in Atlanta’s rotation.

Matt Holliday hit his second home run of the spring, and the Cardinals tied the Braves 1-1 in a game called after 10 innings. Atlanta managed only two hits and scored its lone run scored on a botched relay by shortstop Ryan Theriot in the seventh.

Lohse needed only 61 pitches, 43 of them strikes, to get through his strongest outing of the spring. He became the first Cardinals pitcher to go six innings — an encouraging sign after forearm injuries have dogged him most of the last two seasons.
