LONDON (AP) — Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger says 41-year-old goalkeeper Jens Lehmann will come out of retirement and rejoin the club.
Wenger says the former Germany international, who left Arsenal in the summer of 2008 after a five-year spell with the Premier League club, will sign a deal until the end of the season.
Lehmann is currently training with the Gunners and hopes to solve the team’s goalkeeping crisis, with Wojciech Szczesny, Lukasz Fabianski and Vito Mannone all out injured.
Lehmann, who retired last year after his contract expired at Bundesliga side Stuttgart, will back up Manuel Almunia.
