SAN DIEGO (AP) — Tony Hawk, Andy Macdonald and other top skateboarders and BMX riders are scheduled to compete at the fifth Clash at Clairemont to raise money for Grind for Life, a nonprofit that helps cancer patients, and a local YMCA.

Pro skateboarders Pierre-Luc Gagnon, Bucky Lasek, Bob Burnquist, Alex Perelson and Rob Lorifice also are expected to compete Saturday at the Mission Valley YMCA-Krause Family Skate and Bike Park. The Clash at Clairemont will include pro vert and pro street demos, and best-trick contests.

Grind for Life was founded by Mike Rogers, a pro skateboarder who is a two-time cancer survivor.

Macdonald hopes to raise $20,000, which will be split between Grind for Life and Mission Valley YMCA.
