Delbosco, Holmlund win World Cup ski cross events

MYRKDALEN-VOSS, Norway (AP) — Anna Holmlund of Sweden clinched the freestyle World Cup ski cross title by winning the season finale Saturday, while Christopher Delbosco of Canada won the men’s event.

Holmlund protected her lead in the standings by finishing ahead of Kelsey Serwa of Canada and Katrin Mueller of Switzerland.

Heidi Zacher of Germany could have overtaken the Swede in the standings but missed the final and finished fifth. Holmlund finished with 672 points to Zacher’s 612.

Delbosco held off Conradign Netzer of Switzerland in the four-man final, with Tomas Kraus of the Czech Republic finishing third. John Teller of the United States was fourth.

Delbosco remains second in the men’s ski cross standings with 615 points, trailing leader Andreas Matt of Austria by 209 points.
