VALMALENCO, Italy (AP) — Ekaterina Tudegesheva captured the women’s parallel giant slalom World Cup title on Saturday by winning her sixth race of the season.
The Russian needed to finish third to claim the title but took it with a flourish by beating Isabella Laboeck of Germany and Austria’s Julia Dujmovits.
In the men’s competition, Sylvain Dufour of France finished first ahead of Andreas Prommegger from Austria and Switzerland’s Roland Haldi.
World Cup leader Benjamin Karl finished ninth.
