Woodland Fire Department honors its own

Woodland — Firefighter Nick Maunu was given the Firefighter of the Year award at the Woodland Fire Department Banquet 2011. He was chosen by fellow firefighters.

The annual banquet, held at the Lewis River Golf Course, is a chance for the department to celebrate the accomplishments of the members.

The Chief’s Award was presented to Firefighter Joseph Rudishaueser; he was chosen by Chief Mike Jackson. Firefighter Eino Suomi was presented the Bull Dog award; he was chosen by last year’s Bull Dog winner Battalion Chief Justin Gordon. This award is given to someone who is reliable and possesses commitment to the department. The Business of the Year award was given to Chilton Logging.
