APELDOORN, Netherlands (AP) — Jack Bobridge of Australia set a track record in the 4-kilometer individual pursuit Thursday to set up a gold medal race against Jesse Sergent of New Zealand at the track cycling world championships.

Bobridge, who won gold Wednesday in the team pursuit, finished in 4 minutes, 17.465 seconds at the Omnisport velodrome. His time was seven seconds slower than the world record he set last month in Sydney, when he broke the mark set by Chris Boardman in 1996.

Sergent finished in 4:21.481 — four seconds slower.
