ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) — Lamont Jones spent his last spring break staring at his dorm room walls, fuming over Arizona’s failure to make the NCAA tournament after 25 straight trips.

The Wildcats have roared back to the brink of the Final Four, and only an undersized scoring machine from Connecticut stands in their way.

Kemba Walker and third-seeded UConn take on fifth-seeded Arizona and star forward Derrick Williams at Honda Center on Saturday in the West regional final.

Walker and Jones are longtime friends from New York, and their guard matchup could determine which ascendant national power goes to Houston.

Walker has been unstoppable during UConn’s eight straight wins, but Williams scored 32 points as Arizona knocked off defending champion Duke.
