SEATTLE (AP) — Steve Zakuani tapped in a shot at the left post early in the 80th minute, giving the Seattle Sounders their first goal of the season in a 1-1 ties with the Houston Dynamo on Friday night.

Seattle (0-2-1) failed to score through the first 260 minutes of its first season in Major League Soccer, dropping 1-0 decisions at home to Los Angeles and on the road to New York.

Geoff Cameron scored for Houston (0-1-1) late in the 41st minute.

Erik Friberg started Seattle’s scoring play with a corner kick from the attacking right side. Sounders defender Zach Scott headed it across the goalmouth, and it landed at the foot of Zakuani, who was standing directly in front of the left post.

Cameron’s goal for Houston came on a rebound. Lovel Palmer took a free kick from 35 yards straight in front of the net, and he drove the ball off the crossbar. It came all the way back out to Cameron, and from 25 yards away, he fired a shot that bounced off a downed Seattle defender in the box, flew up and off of the bar, and dropped behind goalkeeper Kasey Keller.
