SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) — The hottest action was away from the tables this week in the competition among Indian casinos in the Spokane market.
The Spokane Tribe of Indians said Tuesday it is moving forward with plans to build a big casino project on land it owns in the suburb of Airway Heights. That project still needs federal and state approval.
The Kalispel Tribe, which already operates a large casino in Airway Heights, unveiled a new outdoor theater with an ambitious concert schedule that includes Toby Keith and Willie Nelson. Meanwhile, the nearby Coeur d’Alene Tribe cut the ribbon on a $75 million expansion that includes nearly 100 more hotel rooms, two new restaurants and an outdoor concert venue.
