ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) — Managers John Farrell of the Blue Jays and Joe Maddon of the Rays have been ejected in the same inning.

They were thrown out during the bottom of the seventh in Wednesday night’s game.

Farrell was tossed by plate umpire Chad Fairchild during a pitching change.

Maddon then was ejected by first base umpire Joe West after the umpires held a conference and reversed West’s safe call on Toronto first baseman Adam Lind’s tag play on Sam Fuld for an inning-ending double play.

Lind was pulled off first by Edwin Encarnacion’s throw after the third baseman stepped on the bag for a forceout.
