WARSAW, Poland (AP) — A top official in Warsaw has barred fans from an upcoming league match at the site of several disturbances this year.

Warsaw province Governor Jacek Kozlowski said Thursday that he is closing the Legia Warsaw stadium to fans for Friday’s game against Korona Kielce. Police say the stadium has been the site of numerous incidents this year.

Poland is the host country for Euro 2012.

Kozlowski’s decision comes two days after hooligans caused $13,000 in damage following Legia’s win over Lech Poznan in a Polish Cup match at a stadium in Bydgoszcz.

In response, Prime Minister Donald Tusk has called for stricter measures from city and soccer authorities to prevent such disturbances.
