PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — A 13-year-old boy who was beaten and shot is the youngest gang-related death in Portland in a decade.

The Oregonian reports (http://bit.ly/smRqAW) Julio Cesar Marquez had a Facebook page under another name in which he bragged about gang-banging violence and talked about smoking marijuana and his time in juvenile detention.

He was killed Sunday night. His body was found Monday morning in a northeast Portland alleyway.

Julio was an eighth-grader at an alternative school where he enrolled after assaulting another student in April at a middle school.

At Rosi Hinton alternative school teachers say Julio was polite, well-liked and talented in math.
