COLLEGE STATION, Texas (AP) — Texas A&M junior forward Khris Middleton will miss 3-4 weeks after undergoing surgery Friday to repair a partially torn right meniscus.

The 6-foot-7, 210-pound Middleton hurt his knee in the first half of Wednesday’s 81-59 win over Liberty. An MRI exam showed the tear, after the team’s medical staff initially thought Middleton had hurt his hamstring.

Middleton was A&M’s leading scorer (14.4 points per game) and second-leading rebounder (5.2 per game) last season.

The No. 20 Aggies (1-0) play Southern on Sunday.
