LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. (AP) — Samme Givens and Frantz Massenat each scored 21 points as Drexel opened the season with an 80-62 victory over Rider in a game that began at 6 a.m. Tuesday.
Givens scored 13 of his 21 points in the second half, including a run seven straight as the Dragons (1-0) pulled away.
The Broncs, playing for the third time in five days, fell to 0-3 for the first time in 15 years.
The game drew a capacity crowd of 1,650 fans at Alumni Gym.
Rider’s Daniel Stewart had 12 points and 10 rebounds for his fifth career double-double.
