LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — Chuck Guy scored 21 points and Courtney Jackson added 12 as UALR defeated IUPUI 75-70 in the Auto-Owners Insurance Spartan Invitational on Tuesday night.

Taggart Lockhart and Will Neighbour nailed back-to-back 3-pointers for the Trojans (2-1) to ignite a 13-2 run late in the first half. The surge gave UALR a 41-26 lead, and it maintained that cushion the rest of the way.

Alex Young had 19 points and Greg Rice and Donovan Gibbs 11 each for the Jaguars (1-1). Gibbs added seven rebounds.

Ninth-year UALR coach Steve Shields became the school’s all-time winningest coach. He has guided the Trojans to 134 victories, eclipsing Mike Newell’s total from 1984-90.

Neighbour and Tramar Sutherland had nine points each for UALR.
