COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Penn State interim coach Tom Bradley remains hopeful heading into Saturday’s game at Ohio State, even though history clearly isn’t on the Nittany Lions’ side.
They’ve only won twice in their last 10 trips to the Horseshoe, dating all the way back to 1978.
But there is one ray of sunshine in that troublesome statistic: The only two times the Nittany Lions have won in Columbus, they beat a freshman quarterback. And the Buckeyes are led by first-year signal-caller Braxton Miller.
No. 21 Penn State (8-2, 5-1) needs one more win to clinch at least a share of the Big Ten’s Leaders Division title. A victory against the Buckeyes and another the following week at Wisconsin, and the Nittany Lions will play in the Big Ten championship game.
