AIGLE, Switzerland (AP) — Australian cyclist Deon Locke has been provisionally suspended after testing positive for a banned stimulant at a race in China.
The International Cycling Union says it has asked the Australian Cycling Federation to open a disciplinary case.
The UCI says the 24-year-old Locke tested positive for phentermine at the Tour of Hainan on Oct. 23.
Locke won Stage 4 that day in a solo breakaway, and finished 43rd overall in the nine-day race.
Locke raced for the second-tier Champion System team but left the Hong Kong-registered squad this month.
