BELLINGHAM, Wash. (AP) — A noisy turkey is now just as bad as a barking dog in the eyes — and ears — of the Bellingham animal control officers.
The city council approved an ordinance Monday extending the noise complaint ordinance to roosters, turkeys and peacocks.
The Bellingham Herald reports (http://bit.ly/t1kav7 ) people responsible for fowl noise could get a $99 citation if they can’t keep their birds quiet.
Whatcom Humane Society Executive Director Laura Clark told the council there has been an increase in complaints about roosters because more people are raising chickens in the city.
