HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill. (AP) — Jeremiah Bowman had 16 points and made two key plays down the stretch as Longwood defeated Prairie View A&M 70-67 on Friday in the Chicago Invitational.
Bowman’s three-point play with 1:08 remaining gave the Lancers (2-4) a 64-63 lead. Then Bowman stole the ball and Martiz Washington made a 3-pointer to put Longwood up by four.
Antwan Carter scored 18 points to lead Longwood. Washington added 12 points.
Jourdan Demuynck had 18 points for Prairie View (2-4), and Ryan Gesiakowski added 11 points for the Panthers. Jules Montgomery had 16 rebounds — 10 on the offensive end — for Prairie View, but was just 1 for 13 from the field and finished with three points. He missed a shot that would have tied it as time ran out.
