Camas — Serving in Uganda as a missionary for City Bible Church several years ago has come back to bless Carolyn Wade. In July, Wade submitted a short story about an incident in Uganda to the “Chicken Soup for the Soul” series. To her surprise, in August she received an email saying her piece, “The Palm Tree,” was accepted. It was the first time Wade ever submitted anything, so she was shocked and excited to be published so quickly. Wade’s initial inspiration to write was a ninth-grade English teacher. She has taken creative writing classes as Clark College and is part of a local writers’ critique group. Her story is in the book “Chicken Soup for the Soul: Find Your Happiness.”
