Missouri State holds on over Tulsa in OT 69-64

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (AP) — Kyle Weems racked up a double-double, scoring 17 points and grabbing 12 rebounds, to help Missouri State pull out a 69-64 win in overtime against Tulsa on Saturday night.

The Bears (4-0) were down 56-53 with 8 seconds left in regulation when Anthony Downing sank a 3-pointer to force overtime.

Missouri State took the early lead in extra play, but the Golden Hurricane (4-3) quickly caught up.

Tulsa went ahead on a tip-in by Joe Richard with 1:40 left. The lead didn’t last long.

Weems hit a 3-pointer just 12 seconds later to give the Missouri State a 65-64 advantage. Tulsa did not score again.

Caleb Patterson scored a team-high 19 points for the Bears while Jarmar Gulley added 16.

Jordan Clarkson finished with a game-high 23 points for Tulsa, Scottie Haralson added 15 and Kodi Maduka grabbed a double-double with 11 points and a game-high 13 rebounds.
