DOVER, Del. (AP) — Layups by Marques Oliver and Casey Walker helped Delaware State get off to a quick start in the second half, and the Hornets went on to defeat Eastern Kentucky 57-43 Tuesday night.

Walker followed with a 3-pointer and Tahj Tate a jumper as the Hornets (3-3) scored the first nine points of the second half after trailing 18-17 at halftime.

Eastern Kentucky pulled within 30-25 on Jaron Jones’ layup with 13:24 left, but jumpers by Oliver and Kendall Gray and a layup by Tate stretched the lead to 36-25. The Hornets never led by fewer than seven points after that.

Eric Stutz scored 13 points to lead the Colonels (3-5), who have played all eight of their games away from home.
