Clark county — Local Latino youth are invited to dream big — and make it happen — at Clark College.

“Going Beyond the Dream” is a conference aiming to give Latino youth professional, educational, occupational and parenting-skills connections.

Business, science, education, engineering, mental health, law enforcement and social work professionals will be on hand. Participating agencies include the Vancouver and Evergreen School Districts, Clark County, Washington State University, Southwest Washington League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC), Safe Communities Task Force, Clark County, Vancouver Police, Sea Mar Community Health Clinic, D&L Associates, Latino Community Resource Group, USDA Gifford Pinchot National Forest and the Washington State Commission on Hispanic Affairs.

Young people will meet key professionals in workshops and group discussions. Parenting issues and college admissions will be addressed, too.

The event is 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 8 at Clark College, 1933 Ft. Vancouver Way. For more information, call 360-852-3605.
