PARIS (AP) — Danedream raced away from the field in the last 250 meters to win the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe on Sunday.

The 3-year-old filly, a late addition to the 16-horse field, became the first Arc champion from Germany since Star Appeal in 1975.

Shareta finished second and Snow Fairy took third.

Andrasch Starke rode the Peter Schiergen-trained Danedream.

She also won the Baden Grand Prix and the Berlin Grand Prix this season.
