No police to investigate Spokane property crimes

SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) — Spokane police say budget cuts have left no officers assigned to investigate property crimes.

Eight detective positions in the property crimes unit have been eliminated through attrition.

Police say people should continue to report property crimes but only about 5 percent will be investigated.
