ROME (AP) — The lawyer for the former boyfriend of Amanda Knox says her father has invited the young man to visit them in Seattle.
Luca Maori, who defended Raffaele Sollecito in his successful appeals trial, says Curt Knox has invited the young man and his family to visit. Maori told The Associated Press in Rome Friday that Sollecito will likely visit the Knox family “by the end of the year.”
Sollecito, like Amanda Knox, had been imprisoned since 2007 for Meredith Kercher’s murder after being convicted by a lower court. Maori says for now Sollecito is resting and feels “frightened about leaving his house.” The lawyer says Sollecito is still quite shaken.
