Rule by Night takes Belmont’s Duck Dance Stakes

NEW YORK (AP) — Rule by Night beat Sunrise Smarty by three-quarters of a length Sunday in the $61,800 Duck Dance Stakes at Belmont Park.

Javier Castellano was aboard for trainer Steve Asmussen as the 4-year-old got his fifth win in 12 starts. The time was 1:14.86 for the 612 furlongs on the fast track.

Rule by Night paid $17.20, $7.80 and $5.30. Sunrise Smarty, the 3-1 favorite, returned $4.20 and $3.50, while Flat Bold earned $4.10 to show.
