MEXICO CITY (AP) — Herculez Gomez scored his fifth goal of the season, connecting on a header just before the final whistle in Estudiantes Tecos’ 3-2 loss to visiting Monterrey in Mexico’s Apertura.
The 29-year-old from Las Vegas, who missed his team’s previous match against Morelia because of a strained quadriceps, entered in the 63rd minute and scored on the game’s final touch Friday night with a leaping 7-yard header off a long cross six minutes into injury time.
