Republican John Boehner’s cry of “class warfare” on American citizens doesn’t begin to describe what the wealthy have done to middle-income and poor Americans. It has been a bloodbath.
From all the presidents, John Kennedy through George W. Bush, the share of total personal income in the United States to the wealthiest 1 percent of earners has more than doubled, from 10.2 to 21.8 percent. Even more disturbing, the share received by the top 1 percent has tripled, from 3.2 to 10.9 percent (http://www.thenation.com/article/154604/its-not-party-its-policies). There was only a small correction in the Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton eras. Of course, this looting came at the expense of the middle class and poor.
So the middle class and the poor are guilty of class warfare? I’d say they were slaughtered, and have lost most everything to the wealthiest.
