MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — The Minnesota Wild have traded left wing Eric Nystrom to the Dallas Stars.

The deal was done Wednesday. The Wild agreed to send Nystrom to the Stars in exchange for future considerations, which could turn into a draft pick.

Nystrom began the season with the Wild’s AHL affiliate in Houston. The 28-year-old had four goals and eight assists with a minus-16 rating skating in all 82 games for the Wild last season. He is in the second year of a three-year contract that pays him $1.4 million annually.

Nystrom was essentially beat out in training camp for a roster spot by rookie Brett Bulmer.
