ABERDEEN, Wash. (AP) — The message on a sign outside an Aberdeen bowling alley read, “I’m sick of all the meth heads and thieves in our town.”

The owner of Rainier Lanes and Coffeeman espresso stand, Rob Shaver, told The Daily World of Aberdeen he put up the sign this month after years of battling thieves and vandals. He says the recent theft of two drain pipes was the final straw.

And since he put up the sign, Shaver says the response has been overwhelming. Customers have stopped by and called to tell him they support him for pushing back.

Shaver says he’s stopped calling police because the perpetrators who spray-paint his buildings and urinate on his trash bin are never caught, and he knows the officers have more serious issues to contend with.

He says he’s gotten his point across and doesn’t need to keep the sign up much longer.
