ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) — Anaheim Ducks left wing Jason Blake has been taken to a hospital with a significant cut on his left forearm.

Blake was injured with 1012 minutes left in the Ducks’ 1-0 victory over the San Jose Sharks on Friday night.

Blake fell down near San Jose defenseman Brent Burns while attempting to play the puck moments after a faceoff, and Burns’ right skate appeared to cut Blake accidentally. Blake immediately raised his arm and skated off the ice.

Blake was taken to UCI Medical Center for sutures. Coach Randy Carlyle says the cut is “severe.”

The 38-year-old Blake is entering his third season with the Ducks. He had 32 points last season on Anaheim’s second line with Teemu Selanne and Saku Koivu.
