SEATTLE (AP) — Police are arresting Occupy Seattle demonstrators who refuse to remove their tents from the city’s downtown Westlake Park.

Spokesman Mark Jamieson says officers started going through the park at dawn telling campers they had to move their tents so city employees could clean the park. Some campers complied. Those who refused are being arrested and their tents are being moved.

KOMO Radio reports there have been a half-dozen arrests for obstruction.

Dozens of tents remained in the park after a weekend of Occupy Seattle demonstrations against corporate power.

The city has tried to persuade demonstrators to move to City Hall Plaza and out of the retail core.
