MOSES LAKE (AP) — The Grant County sheriff’s office says a Moses Lake, Wash.-area resident who fatally wounded a suspected burglar has been arrested for investigation of being a felon in possession of a firearm.
Police and deputies responded to a 911 call Sunday night and found the wounded man, who later died at a Spokane hospital.
The sheriff’s office said Monday that the man who was shot and two other men apparently went to the home to steal marijuana from 44-year-old Timothy Mandelas, who has a medical marijuana card. Undersheriff Dave Ponozzo says Mandelas is believed to have shot one man and the other two fled. While Mandelas has cooperated with investigators, Ponozzo says he was arrested for investigation on the firearms count.
