Camas man’s idea used in calendar

Camas — William Sobolewski is a founding sponsor of the Army Historical Foundation, which aims to raise funds for a National Army Museum at Fort Belvoir, Va. He recently emailed the foundation to suggest that when it publishes its next annual calendar, which always includes pages devoted to specific conflicts, groups or subjects of interest, it ought to feature soldiers who served during the Cold War era. “That made eminently good sense to me,” said retired Col. Dave Fabian, the foundation’s director of communications, in its newsletter. The 2012 calendar, to be mailed out to members any day now, will include a Cold War page, including a small photo of Sobolewski, and Edward A. Reep’s “Freedom Bridge” painting of Berlin.
