SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) — The Spokane County sheriff’s office says a 20-year-old woman was shot dead in the living room of a Spokane apartment, and then the presumed shooter shot himself in the adjacent unit.
The sheriff’s office says that deputies responding to calls of a shooting found the woman with multiple gunshot wounds in the living room. Witnesses told deputies the shooter was a 26-year-old male from the adjacent apartment, who had returned to his residence after the shooting.
Negotiators arrived on the scene to talk to the man, but made no contact. Later on, the SWAT team found the man in the bathroom with what seemed self-inflicted gunshots.
No cause has been determined yet.
