STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (AP) — Two weeks into the season, and Penn State has two quarterbacks but not much of a passing game.
Coach Joe Paterno said he needs to review film and talk with his assistants before determining how he’ll proceed with the quarterback tandem of Rob Bolden and Matt McGloin following Saturday’s 27-11 loss to Alabama.
They combined to go 12 of 39 passing for 144 yards and an interception, though Paterno said he thought his quarterbacks played well. The offense was also hampered by dropped passes by receivers against the Tide’s tough secondary.
Nittany Lions wideout Derek Moye said the team is still searching for its offensive identity. They have a week to fix that before playing at Temple in week 3.
The loss dropped Penn State out of the AP Top 25.
