FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) — New England Revolution midfielder Stephen McCarthy will miss the rest of the Major League Soccer season following left shoulder surgery.
The 23-year-old’s labrum was repaired Monday by team head physician Dr. Scott Martin.
McCarthy was hurt at San Jose on May 21, then re-injured it three times. His latest setback was during training on Sept. 4.
He scored two goals and had one assists in 21 games this year.
